Bike Rally Cancelled Respecting Law and Order – Shalet Pinto
Mangaluru: The members of the district Mahila Congress organized a bike rally from the District Congress Bhavan Mallikatta on March 5, but the police did not allow the Mahila Congress to hold the bike rally without permission.
Addressing the mediapersons District Mahila Congress President Shalet Pinto said, “On March 6, the Youth Congress is holding a Convention at the Adyar Garden. As preparation for the convention we the Mahila Congress thought of holding a bike rally to bring awareness among the women. But the police did not allow us to hold the rally.”
Shalet further said, “We the Congress members respect the law and order. Since the Police Inspector requested us not to hold the rally we have cancelled it. We will not break the law and hold our rally. We wanted maximum women to take part in the convention on March 6 and to create awareness we had thought of holding the bike rally.”
Shalet also said, “In the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections we want the Congress to win more seats and make Rahul Gandhi as our prime minister. I urge the women to join the Congress in large numbers and work for the success of the party.”
