Bishop Aloysius Inaugurates Newly Constructed Vamanjoor Church Hall
Mangaluru: St Joseph the Worker Church ’Sabhabhavana’ was a gift to the people of Vamanjoor. The Thanksgiving Holy Eucharistic mass at 9:30 am was officiated by the Bishop of Mangaluru Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza. In his homily, he said, “As we are close to celebrating the Birth of our Lord Jesus, it is a time to prepare spiritually by attending the daily Eucharistic celebration and strengthen our faith”.
At 11:15 Dr Aloysius Paul D Souza, inaugurated the newly constructed Church Hall (Sabha Bhavana) and blessed it along with the Parish Priest of Vamanjoor church Fr Cyprian Pinto.
The prayer Service was conducted by the sisters from St Raymond Convent, Vamanjoor and Queen of the Apostles SRA.
Bishop Aloysius D’Souza inaugurated the programme by lighting the traditional lamp along with other dignitaries on the dais.
MLA of Mangaluru South Constituency and Chairman of Legislative Standing Committee for Backward Classes and Minority J R Lobo, in his message, appreciated Fr Cyprian Pinto and said, “The construction work of the new church hall has been completed because of the hard work and dedication of the parish priest. It is a beautiful hall and the Vamanjoor parishioners will be benefited”. MLA Lobo congratulated the Parish Priest for his hard work and dedication in bringing up this hall.
Addressing the gathering MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said, “Catholics of Dakshina Kannada are the treasure to our District. Catholic missionaries are imparting value based education in their institutions”.
MLA of Mangaluru North Constituency Moideen Bava and Mayor Harinath acknowledged the dedication by the Parish Priest Fr Cyprian Pinto towards the newly constructed Church hall.
Bishop Aloysius felicitated the Architect of the newly constructed hall Lawrence Cutinho, Contractor Richard Rodrigues, Corporator Thiruvail Ward, Hemalatha and Raghu Salian, Vice President Roshan M Kamath, Secretary Joachim D Souza, Jerald Monteiro, Jennifer, Steevan Pinto, Rohan Pereira, Juliet Saldanha, Suresh, Melwin EX-member DK Zilla Panchayath and Seema – Member DK Zilla Panchayath.
On this auspicious day, the Pastoral Parishad Members appreciated Fr Cyprian Pinto, he was felicitated by the Bishop.
Fr Victor Machado, Vicar Forane, Mangalore city, Sr Cecilia Mendonca BS Provincial Superior, Mangalore Province and Sr Zeena D’Souza SRA Provincial Superior, Mangalore Province were also felicitated for their contribution towards the building construction.
Bishop Dr Aloysious Paul D’Souza in his Presidential Speech appreciated Fr Cyprian Pinto for his undaunted courage to bring up this beautiful hall. He thanked the donors for their generosity and blessed them.
Parish Priest of Vamanjoor Church Fr Cyprian Pinto welcomed the gathering. Joachim delivered the vote of thanks. Sapna Saldanha and Assumpta Pais compered the programme.
