Bishop Gerald Lobo Releases National ‘Youth Sunday’ Poster
Udupi: For the first time, the Youth Commission of the Conference of Catholic Bishops’ of India (CCBI – Latin Rite) has decided to celebrate Youth Sunday on August 26, as a day dedicated by the Bishops to the young people especially in India.
As part of the celebrations, the Youth Sunday poster was released on 22nd August 2018 at the bishop’s office Udupi.
Bishop Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo released the poster and addressed the youth of Udupi Diocese and the Central Council members.
Indian Catholic Youth Movement Udupi Diocese president Dion D’Souza, Diocese PRO Fr Chethan Lobo, ICYM animator Leslie Aroza and ICYM office bearers were also present.
According to the CBCI Youth commission, “The Youth Sunday is to be marked by youth in their respective parishes, zones, dioceses or institutions. Youth must gather on the day or any other day as per their convenience and celebrate youthfulness and Christian faith by organizing community programmes, recreation, outreach, games, competitions, fetes etc.” The nationwide celebrations are by gathering all young people in the parishes and institutions and celebrating the Holy Mass (youth Mass)”.
