BJP demands NIA probe into murder of its workers in K’taka

Bengaluru : The state BJP on Saturday demanded that the National Investigative Agency probe the killing of RSS and BJP workers, including Sharath Madiwala near Mangaluru.

“More than 20 RSS and BJP workers have been killed in the past four years in the state. The law and order has completely collapsed. The government has not been able to arrest those responsible for the murder of Sharath Madiwala so far. The government appears to be shielding killers,” state BJP president B S Yeddyurappa told reporters.

Karnataka is going the Kerala way as far as attacks on RSS and BJP workers are concerned. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and AICC general secretary in charge of Karnataka K C Venugopal are conspiring to finish off the BJP in the state. Venugopal reportedly directing his party men to prepare a list of RSS-sponsored colleges is a testimony to this fact, the BJP leader claimed.

BJP MP Shobha Karandlaje urged Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to order an NIA probe into the killing of RSS and BJP workers in the state. She held Popular Front of India (PFI) and Karnataka Forum for Dignity (KFD) responsible for the killings and sought the Centre to immediately ban these organisations.

She also demanded that two ministers from Dakshina Kannada district, Ramanath Rai and U T Khader, should be dropped immediately for “vitiating the atmosphere.”

CM blamed
Speaking to reporters in Tumakuru, Union Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said that chief minister’s visit to Mangaluru on Friday further worsened the law and order situation in coastal areas.

“The Congress government in the state is disturbing law and order. Mangaluru has been reeling under communal violence for the past 10 days. Under such circumstances, there was no need for the chief minister to visit Mangaluru for party campaign,” Gowda said.

He accused ministers U T Khader and Ramanath Rai of inciting communal Violence.
