BJP Councilor Assaults Asst Health Officer of Udupi CMC
Udupi: The BJP councilor of Vadabhandeshwara Ward in Udupi City Municipality assaulted the assistant health officer who was on duty here on Tuesday, July 16.
It is alleged that Prasanna Kumar working as an assistant health officer at the Udupi City Municipality, on July 15 had a heated argument on phone with Vadabhandeshwara Ward Councilor Yogish on the issue of dumping stones on the roadside.
On July 16 morning, when Yogish arrived to the council office a heated argument began between him and Prasanna Kumar. During the argument, Yogish assaulted the officer on duty. Prasanna Kumar has been admitted to the Government Hospital in Udupi.
A case has been registered in the Udupi Town Police Station.
Soon after the incident, Udupi Municipal Council employees protested against the councilor Yogish.
