BJP Critisized Anna Bhagya as Kanna Bhagya But now says Namma Bhagya – U T Khader

Addressing the mediapersons U T Khader said, “The UPA government implemented the Right to food act and under this act, food grains are provided at a subsidized rate, those who come to power should continue this scheme for the benefit of the poor. In Karnataka, we are giving the BPL families 7 kg rice per person free of cost. If Anna Bhagya is BJP’s Bhagya why then in other states like Maharastra, Gujarat and Chattisghad, where the BJP is ruling this scheme has not been implemented. Karnataka is the only state to start the Anna Bhagya scheme and the BPL families have benefited from this scheme. According to the Right to Food Act, only 5 kgs of rice should be distributed at a subsidized rate but in Karnataka, the government is distributing 7 kgs rice free of cost. Let the BJP implement such schemes in states where they are in power instead of claiming Anna Bhagya as Namma Bhagya in Karnataka.”

Minister Khader further said, “Many labourers come here from other states, sometimes they find difficulty in getting food, let the NDA government provide them Anna Bhagya. When they too are the citizens of this country why is the NDA government not providing those migrant labourers with the Anna Bhagya?” Khader questioned.
