BJP demands Resignation of Mayor in Watchman’s wife Assault case
Mangaluru: The BJP workers staged a protest in front of the Mangaluru City Corporation on October 31, against Mayor Kavitha Sanil for allegedly assaulting the watchman’s wife Kamala at her building premises on October 26.
Addressing the protesters corporater Sudheer Shetty said, “While taking the oath as Mayor Kavitha Sanil said that she will work for the upliftment of the poor people and give priority for the development work. Accordingly, Mayor Kavitha raided the massage parlour to get publicity. There are hundreds of massage parlours operating in the city but for publicity, she raided only one massage parlour.”
Sudheer Shetty further said, “There are 20000 illegal water connections in the MCC but the Mayor took the media and disconnected the water connection from one building. What about the other 19999 connections. The Mayor is interested only in gaining publicity. She even showed her muscle power with the poor watchman’s wife by assaulting her. We demand the resignation of the Mayor.”
Addressing the protesters former mayor Ganesh Hosabettu said, “Mayor was supposed to inaugurate the Karate competition in a public place but Kavitha Sanil has inaugurated it at her building by assaulting the watchman’s wife”.
BJP corporator Roopa D Bangera, Pooja Pai, Monappa Bhandary, Ravi Shanker Mijar, Randeep Kanchan, Dr Bharat, Capt Brijesh Chowta, Rajani Dugganna and others were also present.
