BJP Mahila Morcha Stages Protest against T P Ramesh for misbehaving with woman

Mangaluru: The BJP Mahila Morcha staged a protest in front of the DC office on August 21 against the former President of Madikeri Congress unit and current Chairman of the Silk Board T P Ramesh for misbehaving with MLC Veena Achaiah during the Independence day programme at Madikeri.

Addressing the protesters BJP Mahila Morcha leader Pooja Pai said, “On August 15, during the Independence Day programme the Chairman of the Silk Board T P Ramesh tried to hold MLC Veena Achaiah’s hand in public. Being a responsible leader, Ramesh was trying to hold Veena’s hand which the BJP Mahila Morcha strongly condemns. On August 16, Veena spoke to the media and said, “I did not make any issue about it on the same day because I did not want to spoil the Independence day programme”. We demand the resignation of T P Ramesh and urge the state government led by CM Siddaramaiah to remove him from his position”.

The BJP state Mahila Morcha spokesperson Sulochana G K Bhat addressing the protesters said, “Congress leaders have shown their culture during the independence day. On August 15, the Chairman of the Silk Board T P Ramesh misbehaved with Veena. After misbehaving with Veena, Ramesh has reacted saying “She is like my sister”. If Veena was his sister why did he not hold her hand at home, why in public?. Even CM Siddaramaiah had kissed a woman in Tarikere of Chikkamagaluru constituency last year and Meti’s sex scandal which shows the Congress culture and their respect for women.”

Sulochana further said, “Women officers who worked with transparency were harassed by the Congress leaders. Anupama Shenoy resigned from her position as DySP and is now at home because of CM’s close associate. DC of Mysuru Shikha was transferred, Tulasi Maddinini who was the DC of Mysuru was transferred as the CEO of ZP in Mangaluru and within 6 months she was re-transferred so some other place. Hephsiba Rani was an able officer working as a Commissioner of MCC but due to the attitude of the Congress corporators she was transferred from Mangaluru. The Congress government also stopped the midday meal of Sri Rama School Kalladka which shows that they do not have any concern of the people. We demand the immediate resignation of TP Ramesh from his post.”

District BJP President Sanjeev Matandoor also spoke on the occasion. Brijesh Chowta, Kishore Pai, BJP Mahila Morcha leaders Bharati Shetty, Geethanjali Shetty, Sandhya Venkatesh, and others were also present.
