BJP Propagating ‘Agenda of Hate’ for upcoming Assembly Polls – Dinesh Gundu Rao
Udupi: Karnataka Congress working president Dinesh Gundu Rao said that BJP was propagating the “agenda of hate” in the southern state as they don’t have any substantive issues to raise. The BJP is getting desperate. That’s why you are seeing the hate agenda which they are trying to impose on Karnataka.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sangathan and co-operatives annual conference at the Town Hall Ajjarkad on Saturday, February 17. BJP is playing politics over dead bodies by dividing Hindus and Muslims. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is targeted for no reasons. The Congress party should be strengthened from the booth level, the schemes and development of the State government should be made aware to the people”. This is enough to state that the Karnataka government is far better than the Modi government.
Questioning the role of the BJP and RSS in the country’s freedom struggle Gundu Rao said that Congress was the reason for India getting its Independence. BJP or RSS did not participate in the freedom struggle. Repeatedly many of the Congress Ministers houses and offices are being raided. This is a clear-cut act of political conspiracy by the BJP. CBI, IT and ED have become the frontal organisations of the BJP, he said.
There are no serious allegations against this government. Siddaramaiah has given a stable government. We have a strong and popular leader in Siddaramaiah, who has done an excellent job as the chief minister. Today, the state is the best job creator in the country. In bringing in investments too, we are among the top three. Our outreach will highlight all this. We will go to the people with a very positive agenda.
Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah presented the budget of his current tenure and announced various projects in Karnataka. The Income-tax department has become a puppet in the hands of Modi and Shah.
The BJP has made various allegations against the Congress government and they have fallen flat and none of them has any substantial evidence. For four-and-a-half years, the (BJP) has not been able to show anything. Now that the elections are nearing, they have been making wild allegations every day – Scam in sand procurement, Scam in laptop procurement, but where are the documents? Where is the proof? Where are the formal complaints? These are pre-election gimmicks, which people can see and will not buy it, he added.
It was the 73rd and 74th amendments to the Constitution brought by the then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi responsible for strengthening the panchayat raj system in the country. These amendments were responsible for empowering women and had provided reservation for women in the panchayat raj system, he said.
