BJP will intensify protest on sand mining issue – Mattaru Rathnakar Hegde

Udupi: We will intensify our protests on the district administration’s failure in facilitating the policy for sand mining said Mattaru Rathnakar Hegde. He was speaking at a press meet held at the BJP Office Udupi here on February 9.

The district administration has failed in implementing an effective policy to facilitate sand mining in the district. The demand for sand is at peak, and it has stalled developmental works. The district in-charge minister seems to be silent on the sand mining issues prevailing in the district. Sand is illegally brought into the district which is affecting the people as the price is relatively very high.

If the district administration fails in effectively implementing a policy to procure sand in the non-CRZ areas, BJP will intensify its protests by procuring sand and distributing it to the poor by defying the administration.

BJP demands the postponement of toll collection till the construction work of the National Highway 66 is completed. Kaup MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake has said that he will raise the issue during the assembly sessions; he should first raise the issue and then speak rather than speaking against the central government for delaying the work. The land acquisition for NH 66 is pending, the government should first complete the land acquisition work. Udupi-Chikkamagaluru LS MP Shobha Karandlaje has briefed union minister Nithin Gadkari on the toll issue.

The state government should speed up the process of passing the amendment bill to support Kambala. BJP will celebrate Balidan divas on February 11, he added.

Katpadi Shanker Poojary, Sandhya Ramesh, Suresh Naik and others were present.

BJP is hell bent on robbing the natural resources of nation. When the BJP is ruling “Bellary republic’ Gandhada gudi is scrapped and exported to China. Reddy brothers were in full control of their sovereign state in exchange for party fund sponsoring.
