BJP won LS and Assembly Elections with Lies, Congress workers Failed to Tell Truth – Siddaramaiah
Mangaluru: “Prime minister Narendra Modi has decided to award Savarkar with Bharat Ratna. Savarkar was the president of Hindu Mahasabha and he was involved in Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination. Awarding Savarkar with Bharat Ratna proves fake patriotism of PM Modi”, alleged former CM Siddaramaiah during the Congress Party workers meet held at St Sebastian Platinum Jubilee hall here on October 18.
Addressing the gathering Siddaramaiah said, “Savarkar was one of the conspirators in Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination later he was acquitted by the court for lack of evidence. The RSS or the Hindu Mahasabha did not take part in the freedom fight. They were with the British. The BJP is awarding such people with Bharat Ratna, Mangaloreans should not allow such a political party to come to power in Mangaluru.”
Siddaramaiah further said, “In the last Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, BJP won with lies since the Congress party workers failed to tell the truth. Our party workers did not tell the people about the development work done by the Congress party during 5 years of tenure. We have fulfilled all the promises made during the elections in 2013. But the party workers failed to convey it to the people. The party workers should visit every house and tell the achievements of the Congress party during its tenure and work with integrity for the party. There will be a difference of opinion among the party workers but it should be kept aside and the party workers should work for the welfare of the party. The party workers should be proactive and visit every house to bring awareness about the development work and the schemes of the Congress during its tenure”.
Siddaramaiah also said, “The Dakshina Kannada MP says that there are 34 districts in the state. He does not even have proper knowledge about the State. Nalin is only aware of Mangaluru. The BJP government has failed to carry out any development work. So far no compensation has been given to the flood victims. BJP is aware only of Operation Kamala and to buy our MLAs. For Operation Kamala they have utilized the taxpayers’ money.”
Siddaramaiah also said, “We have an MP in DK who has been appointed as the state president of BJP. But he doesn’t know the meaning of the economy of the state. This is called ignorance of the state’s economy. He is even unaware of how many Districts our state has. Now the remote control is with one Santhosh, when he switches it on Nalin starts dancing, this is the situation in BJP”. Recently I asked Yeddyurappa about the economy of the state, he said the economy is good and stable. But I told him that the state president of BJP, Nalin says that the Economy of the State is at stake and the treasury was looted. Yeddyurappa said, “Let’s not discuss this. Nalin has no knowledge about the economy of the state”.
BJP’s agenda is Sri Rama, Hindutva, Jammu Kashmir 370 and Pakistan and nothing else.
Savarkar was one of the conspirators in Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination but the BJP is trying to award him with Bharat Ratna which is a great insult to all Indians. Recently someone said that if BJP government is awarding Savarkar with Bharat Ratna, let them also award Godse with Bharat Ratna since he assassinated Gandhi. Do you want such a party to come to power? The BJP should not even win the Corporation elections. Mangaluru is politically strong and the city of Intellectuals said Siddaramaiah.
Former MLA J R Lobo also spoke on the occasion. Former ministers Ramanath Rai, U T Khader, DCC President Harish Kumar, MLC Ivan D’Souza, former MLA Moideen Bava and others were also present.
