BJP’s ‘Jana Suraksha Yatra’ to reach Udupi on March 5 – Mattar Rathnakar Hegde
Udupi: The BJP has decided to organise a padayatra in the Coastal and Malnad regions demanding that the probe into the murders of all Hindu activists be handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) from March 3 to 6, ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. The Jana Suraksha Yatra will be arriving in Udupi district on March 5 said Mattar Rathnakar Hegde Udupi district BJP president.
Speaking to the media persons at the District BJP office on February 28 he said that under the leadership of MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Shobha Karandlaje, Ananth Kumar Hegde and Prathap Simha the padayatra will begin from two places – Kushalnagar in Kodagu district and Ankola in Uttara Kannada district. Both the yatras will culminate in a rally at Mangaluru on March 6 and will be addressed by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at the Neharu Madian.
In Udupi district the padayatra will be flagged off from Byndoor on March 5 at 9:00 am. A public function will be held at Uppunda at 10:00 am. The Padayatra will reach Kundapur Sangam circle at 11:00 am and a public function will be held at the Shastri Circle at 1:00 pm. The Yatra will arrive in Udupi near Ambagilu at 3:00 pm and a Public function will be organised at Kinnimuliki. On February 6 the yathra will proceed to Kaup from Katapadi. A public function will be held in Kaup at 12:00 pm.
The yatra is aimed at instilling a sense of peace and security among both the Hindu and the Muslim communities. The yatra will also demand to ban the Popular Front of India (PFI) and Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), who were involved in the murder of various Hindu activists. The yatra will also demand to handover all the murder cases of Hindu activists to the NIA, he added. Nearly one lakh people are expected to gather for the programme which will be held at Nehru Maidan, he said.
Former MLA Rahupathi Bhat, BJP leaders Shreesha Nayak, Suresh Nayak, Yashpal Suvarna, Katapadi Shanker Poojary, Shyamala Kunder and Kuthyaru Naveen Shetty were present.
