Black flag Demonstration against Rai foiled, Police arrest Yettinahole activists
Mangaluru: An attempt to wave black flags and demonstrate against the Yettinahole river project was thwarted by the timely intervention of the police at the A B Shetty circle during the Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations here on November 1.
More than 8 members who are against the Yettinhole project were arrested while they were proceeding towards Nehru Maidan to demonstrate with black flags against the district minister in-charge B Ramanath Rai.
Four members were arrested at Car Street when they were on the way to Nehru Maidan. The police intercepted and checked every vehicle for the protesters and arrested four of them near AB Shetty circle.
There was a tight security in and around the Nehru Maidan for the smooth Kannada Rajyotsava programme.
