Blast in Furtado Food Products, Owner Robert Dies on Spot
Udupi: In a tragic incident, an owner of the bakery died on the spot after the oven exploded at the Furtado Food Products, in Mabukala here on August 10.
The deceased has been identified as Robert Furtado (53) from Mabukala.
According to primary reports, on August 10 at around 8 am, Robert was working in the bakery. All of a sudden, there was a blast in the bakery killing Robert on the spot.
The Fire Service and Kota Police have reached the spot.
Robert Furtado was running the “Furtado Food Products” for many years in Mabukala in the Airody Gram Panchayat limits. On Monday morning, he had gone to supervise the daily bakery production work. All of a sudden, the oven exploded, and the door of the oven hit Robert killing him on the spot.
Robert Furtado is survived by his wife Pramila Furtado, Three Daughters Rashmi, Dr Roshni & Raveena Furtado. Robert was involved in many social organisations like the Lions Club, Rotary Club and the Catholic Sabha. He was also a member of the Indian Catholic Youth Movement under the earlier Mangalore Diocese.
