Block Congress holds protest against fuel price hike in Udupi
Udupi: Congress activists on Saturday, February 10, held a protest against the rising prices of petrol, gas and diesel and other daily commodities.
The protesters took out a rally from the Board High school which is passed through the service bus-stand, Triveni Circle, KM Marg, Diana Circle, Court Road, Old Taluk Office and culminated at the War memorial Ajjarkad.
During the protest, Congress activists raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi carrying placards comparing the crude oil and petroleum prices prevailing during the previous UPA rule with the ones under the NDA government.
The protesters alleged that the Central Government was doing nothing to control the prices of essential commodities. “Everything is getting expensive during this government’s regime. The BJP’s slogan ‘acche din aane wale hain’ was just an eyewash. People have started feeling the bad days since the BJP has come to power.
Congress leaders Prakyath Shetty, Sathish Ameen Padukere, Amrith Shenoy, Prashanth Poojary, Janardhan Bhandarkar, Veronica Cornelio, Roshni Olivera, Joythi Hebbar, Sunitha Shetty, Dinesh Putran, Christan Almeida, Neeraj Patil, Sanjay Acharya, Kishan Hegde, Celina Karkada and others were present.
