Blood Donation and Health Camp by Thumbay Hospital and BCF, a huge Success
UAE: A blood donation and free health camp were successfully conducted at the Thumbay Hospital, Dubai in association with Bearys Cultural Forum (BCF).
Responding to the Nobel cause more than 190 people registered for donating blood and 85 people successfully donated blood. Meantime all were provided free consultation and health check-up by the consultants and specialists of Thumbay Hospital. The needy were referred to multidisciplinary departments for advance treatment related to Cardiology, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, ENT, Urology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Endocrinology, Orthopedics, Dermatology, Dental, Ophthalmology, Pulmonology and Psychiatry.
Further, the registered members were eligible to receive special privilege discount option up to 31 December 2017. The special privilege also included Umra Vaccination at a discounted price for a period of one year. Every person who donated blood was given a certificate of honour issued from Thumbay hospital and also will be provided the Dubai Health Authority’s Donor’s Card.
Thumbay Hospitals have extended the special offer of total knee replacement package, maternity package, normal delivery package, LSCB package, Antenatal Package, Mammography test, etc.
Dr Mahesh Kumar, Specialist – Pulmonology Department delivered a talk on “Make a Better Living: How to prevent infectious and airborne diseases,” with an active interactive session.
Thumbay Hospital and BCF conducted a felicitation function at the Thumbay Hospital. Thumbay Moideen, the founder President of Thumbay group was felicitated and An Award of Appreciation was given to him for his selfless service to the community. Akbar Moideen, Dr Sameer, Dr Ashutosh and Dharmapalan of Thumbay Hospital were also felicitated on behalf of Bearys Cultural Forum for their contribution to the success of the blood donation and free health camp. Dr B K Yusuf, President, Abdul Latif Mulky, the Chairman of the Medical Camp Organising Committee and Dr Kaup Mohammed, Honorary General Secretary of Bearys Cultural Forum were also present on the dais.
Thumbay Moideen congratulated and thanked all the BCF members, donors, audience and also the members of the Thumbay Hospital for conducting this health camp successfully. He also recalled his experience of starting the Thumbay Hospital and the Gulf Medical University.
Dr Yusuf appreciated the special initiative taken by the Thumbay Hospital and BCF to provide health care services to meet the needs of the Indian population and also to meet the immediate health care needs of the marginalised community through this health camp. He also applauded Thumbay Moideen, the Founder President of Thumbay group and founder patron of BCF for reaching out to the needy people with health solutions.
Asgar Ali Thangal, Advisor to BCF did the Dua and congratulated BCF and Thumbay Hosptial for conducting this event. M E Moolur introduced BCF to the audience and the members of the Thumbay Hospital. M E Moolur briefed on the yearly activities of the BCF especially the BCF convention to be held in Dubai in April 2017.

UAE: Hundreds of people thronged Thumbay Hospital Dubai on Friday, 23rd December 2016, to participate in the Blood Donation Camp and Free Health Checkup program organized by the hospital in association with Bearys Cultural Forum (BCF). The noble cause was arranged as part of Thumbay Group’s continuing CSR drive and BCF’s charity initiatives.
All visitors to the health checkup camp and blood donation camp were provided free consultation and checkup by the specialist doctors of Thumbay Hospital Dubai. They were offered special discounts on total knee replacement package, hip replacement package, maternity package, antenatal package, dental package, mammography test, etc. Participants were also offered Umrah vaccination at a specially discounted price, which can be availed within a year.
Participants of the blood donation camp and health checkup were issued Thumbay Hospital privilege cards valid up to 31st December 2017, which would entitle the card-holders to special discounts at Thumbay hospitals and clinics across the UAE. Blood donors at the camp were awarded certificates of appreciation, in addition to Dubai Health Authority’s ‘Donor’s Card’.
The event also had a talk on “Better Living: Infection Prevention and Air-borne Precautions in the Community” by Dr Mahesh Kumar, Specialist – Pulmonology Department of Thumbay Hospital.
A felicitation function was held on the sidelines of the event, which honored Thumbay Moideen, Founder President of Thumbay Group and Akbar Moideen Thumbay, Vice President of the healthcare division of Thumbay Group, for their contributions to the healthcare industry and commitment to public health.
