Blood Donation Drive Marks 1st Anniversary of KSCC

Dubai: To mark the first anniversary, the Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC), organised a Blood Donation Drive at the Union Metro Station, Deira Dubai on March 10 in association with Dubai Health Authority and Community Development Authority, Government of Dubai.

Chief Guest Abdul Razak who served in DEWA for more than 30 years and currently a businessman inaugurated the event by presenting Gift Hampers to the early registered blood donors. On the occasion, Abdul Razak appreciated the organisers for holding such a programme and highlighted the importance of Blood Donation and how it helps in saving lives.

Vice President of KSCC Mohammad Ismail, addressing the gathering said that Blood Donation is a noble cause. He briefed on the club’s vision of encouraging expatriates into a well-nourished section of the society in Sports, Cultural and social activities. He also appreciated the Community Development Authority for their continuous support and cooperation as this is the 2nd blood donation drive this year and for other activities such as free medical check-up camps, Labour day, Year of Reading and many more. He also added that CDA and the Dubai Government has commended KSCC with a certificate of appreciation social services activities. He took the opportunity to enlighten the benefits and importance of donating blood.

Mohammad Shafi, Manager of KSCC, Abdul Rashid, Abdul Hameed and others were also present at the inauguration ceremony.

Around 100 people participated in the Blood Donation Drive. The sponsors also appreciated the good initiative, the response from the public was good. Event Director Riyaz felicitated the staff of DHA by presenting gifts on behalf of KSCC for their support and cooperation.

Mohammad Ismail delivered the vote of thanks. Mohammed Faraz compered the programme.
