Body of KSRTC Bus conductor found in Kumaradhara River

Subramanya: The body of the KSRTC bus conductor was found two kilometers away down the Kumaradhara River here on September 28.

The bus conductor Devadas (42), was a resident of Vamanjoor.

According to the police, on September 25, a woman was traveling in a KSRTC bus, from Mangaluru to Subramanya, she paid for the ticket but did not receive the change from the conductor. She started to argue with the conductor that she had given him Rs 500 and wanted the balance money. But the conductor said that the woman had given him only a Rs 100. There was an exchange of words and the matter reached the police station in Kadaba.

After the intervention of the police, the matter was solved and the bus proceeded. But the woman on the way again started to argue with Devadas for the change. Being deeply hurt by her accusation conductor Devadas, jumped out of the bus when the bus slowed down on the Kumaradhara bridge, and then jumped into the river.

Before jumping into the river, he wrote a death note on the log sheet. Since then the search was on to find Devadas and on September 28, at around 11:00 his body was found 2 km downstream from the spot.
