Bokkabettu Safwan Kidnap Case Cracked, Two Arrested

Mangaluru: The City Police have cracked the kidnapping case of Safwan son of Abdul Hameed from Bokkabettu and arrested two persons in Bandra, West Mumbai here on November 27.

The arrested have been identified as Mohammed Faizal Ibrahim Sheikh alias Toppi Faizal (36) from Moodbidri and Sahil Ismail (22) from Krishnapur.

According to the police, on October 5, Safwan was taken in an Ertiga car by Rowdy Safwan, Shamshuddin alias Shamshu and their gang. Since then Safwan never returned home. In this connection, Abdul Hameed filed a complaint in the Suratkal police station.

To crack this case and to find Safwan the police formed four teams. Based on the information the police team reached Mumbai and arrested Mohammed Faizal and Sahil in Bandra.

During interrogation, the accused revealed that they had kidnapped Safwan from Bokkabettu and taken to Karkala. The accused later killed Safwan and disposed of his body at the Agumbe Ghat. Three of the prime accused who are directly involved in the murder, the vehicle which was used for the crime and those who sheltered the accused are yet to be arrested.

Under the able direction of Police commissioner T R Suresh, DCP Law and Order Hanaumantharaya, DCP Crime and Traffic Uma Prashanth the operation was carried out by the ACP of North Sub-Division Rajendra D S and team.
