Breaking News : Coronavirus Offer? Buy 1 Kg Chicken & Get 1/2 Kg Rice FREE in Kudla
Mangaluru: Just like when you enter a KFC outlet in the city, you see an offer saying “Buy a bucket of eight piece fried chicken, Get 6 piece Chicken nuggets Free”, or when you enter Pizza Hut, you’ll see a sign stating, “Buy a extra large pizza and get bread sticks Free”- similarly this morning when I stepped into a popular brand of chicken stall, to buy soup bones/back & Neck for my dogs, I saw a deal, where you buy 1 Kg of chicken, you get 1/2 kg rice free. Wow- a deal that sounds great! When is the last time you might have seen such a deal at a chicken selling outlet? Probably never. The only deal we used to get, is Prices of chicken going up and down, on a certain day or time.
Therefore, in in order to attract more customers and try to sell their chicken products, a few chicken outlets are offering deals- and one such deal is , when you buy 1 Kg chicken, you’ll get half kg rice free- and that poultry industry which has come up with this offer is Bharath Agrovet Industries. The Managing Director of this company, Dr Arun Kumar Rai speaking to media had said, “Our few outlets have introduced this offer, and few more will give such offers soon. Since it is livestock, storing chicken for a long period of time needs additional investment. The period till March is conducive for poultry growth, but because of fake messages in social media, the industry has been worse hit. In order tom clear the existing stocks of poultry products as well as to encourage our customers to consume chicken as it is safe, and pass on the benefit to consumers, this offer has been introduced”.
Dr Rai had further said, “Due to the falling price of chicken, the price of 1 Kg chicken when bought from the farm, that used to cost Rs 80-85 per kg (the average being Rs 75 per kg) has dropped to Rs 18-20 per Kg. The dressed chicken that used to cost Rs 160-180 per Kg has dropped to Rs 90 per kg. At a few chicken selling outlets, the price has been slashed down to Rs 40 a kg. All producers across the state are cutting down production, and unfortunately, this is one of the worst phases for the poultry industry”.
Fresh Chicken & Rice Offer = Delicious Chicken & Rice Combo!
In the meantime, the president of Karnataka Poultry Farmers and Breeders Association Dr Sushanth Rai, had informed saying, “A few people with some vested interest are spreading fake news on social media about chicken and coronavirus, when there is absolutely no connection between the two. Poultry sales have drastically come down to the misinformation campaign”.
So get out of the house, look for the chicken stalls who offer good price of chicken, or grab this chicken and rice deal before the offer ends, and head home, and use the fresh chicken to prepare Chicken Sukka or Tandoori or Ghee Roast, and use the free rice to prepare Ghee rice, Rice pulav, fried rice etc Bon apetit!
