Bridge in Mularpatna Collapses due to Heavy Rain
Bantwal: The Mularpatna bridge collapsed due to heavy rain here, on June25.
The bridge in Mularpatna connecting Sornad Bantwal to Mangaluru via Kuppepadav – Kaikamba – Kateel – Iruvail – Yedapadav – Gangimat and Suratkal collapsed on June 25 evening.
The locals allege that due to illegal sand mining in the area and trucks transporting sand regularly through this bridge, it had been damaged, causing the collapse.
Former minister Ramanath Rai visited the spot. No casualties were reported.
