Brie Larson defends her reaction to Casey Affleck’s Oscar win
Los Angeles, March 11 (IANS) Actress Brie Larson has defended her muted reaction to actor Casey Afflecks Best Actor win at the 89th Academy Awards last month.
Larson handed Affleck the trophy on stage and her body language caught the attention of many, as she didn’t clap while the crowd gave the “Manchester by the Sea” star a standing ovation, reports variety.com.
Speculation emerged that Larson’s reaction to his win was a sign of solidarity with the two women who accused Affleck of sexually harassing them during the filming of “I’m Still Here” in 2010.
Larson, an activist for sexual assault survivors, stood quietly while Affleck took the stage.
“I think that whatever it was that I did onstage kind of spoke for itself. I’ve said all that I need to say about that topic,” Larson said at the premiere of “Kong: Skull Island” here earlier this week.
At the Oscars, Larson won the award for Best Actress for her role of a sexual assault victim in the drama “Room”.
