Buntara Sangha Kuwait (BSK) Celebrates ‘Buntaayana-2016’
Kuwait: Buntara Sangha Kuwait (BSK) hosted it glorious 15th-year celebrations under the president ship of Rajesh Shetty recently at the Cambridge English School auditorium Mangaf. It was a celebration in the true sense with the vibrancy of dance music and comedy. An organisation which started with a handful of Bunts members, today has grown steadily and strongly to a big family of over 287 Bunts members. The valuable support of the members, advertisers, donors, and sponsors has helped Buntara Sangha successfully achieve many milestones.
‘Buntaayana’is a strong reflection of the bunts culture, traditions, dress, food and their generous and welcoming heart. The entrance to the auditorium was beautifully decorated by the PR committee members, the art and design work in the reception area represented the theme of the cultural activities of dance & music with backdrop famously known as“BOOTHADA THIRI”. The reception team, the welcome team, the participants, the audiences and everything around looked so very beautiful, glamorous and elegant. Inner stage settings were coordinated by the Culture Committee, while the sports committee overlooked the seating arrangements in the auditorium.
The programme of the day started with a prayer song by Amith Shetty, followed by an invocation dance by the UPASANA Dance Group beautifully choreographed by Pratibha Menon. Vice President Sanath Shetty welcomed the gathering Famous dignitaries and personality of Bunts community Justice N Santosh Hegde graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Ravi Shetty Moodambail (Qatar) winner of International Aryabhata Award was the Guest of Honour. Lighting of Lamp and Souvenir release by the Guests and the Managing Committee and Ex-Presidents of the Sangha marked the beginning of this momentous and joyous occasion.
This was followed by an array of scintillating and breathtaking dance performance by talented Bunts kids and ladies who danced to tunes of ‘Mix Bollywood Songs’, ‘Chicken Song’, ‘BalleSoniye’, ‘MoojiMone’, ‘Lets Nacho’, ‘Bollywood Re-Mix songs’, ‘Bollywood Style Mix Songs’ and the Choreographers for the day were Sandhya R Shetty, Sanmathi D Menda, Kanchana Shetty, Akshatha Shetty, Jolita, Veda S Shetty, Laxmi Hegde and Team.
The stage programme began with the felicitation of Justice Santhosh Hegde and Ravi Shetty Moodambail (Qatar), the outstanding achievers of the Proud Bunt community. They were honoured as per Bunts tradition by presenting Flower bouquet, Shawl, Bunts Shawl, Bunts Peta, Cardamom garland, Fruit basket, Kambala stick and memento. As is the tradition, Buntara Sangha also felicitated outstanding contributors who have played a major role in executing various programs of Buntara Sangha. Divin Menda, Ex-President of the Sangha and his wife Sanmathi Menda- Ex Management Committee member, Sudhakar Shetty Pangala and Vishwanath Shetty were felicitated for their dedicated hard work, support and contribution towards BSK during the Year 2015 – 2016.
Artistes of ‘PrashamsaKaup’ and ‘NammaKalaviderBedra’were also felicitated. This was followed by the felicitation of the sponsors. The audience were truly impressed by the very inspiring and knowledgeable speech delivered by Justice Hegde, Ravi Shetty and President Rajesh Shetty.
The much awaited ‘PrashamsaKaup’ and ‘NammaKalaviderBedra’, Mangalore (India) entertained the audience. As expected the rib-tickling and side-splitting comedy by the both the teams left the audiences rolling out with laughter. The crowd enjoyed every bit of the show with applause all through the evening. The entire programme was coordinated under the guidance of Culture Secretary Sudharshan Raju Shetty.
The vote of thanks was delivered by the General Secretary Dinesh Shetty, thanking the participants, Sub-Committee members, Sponsors and well-wishers for their continued support and making this mega event a very grand success. Mouth-watering dinner was served. The event was beautifully compered by Swarna Shetty and Nithesh Shetty. The programme concluded with the Indian National Anthem.
