Burglars Decamp with Rs 3.25 lakh Worth gold from Murdered Bhaskar Shetty’s Locked House
Udupi: Burglars Decamped with gold ornaments and silver items worth over Rs 3.25 lakh from the locked house of businessman Bhaskar Shetty who was allegedly killed by his wife Rajeshwari Shetty at Manipal.
Bhaskar Shetty, an NRI businessman, went missing from his house on July 28, 2016, and his mother lodged a missing person’s complaint with the Manipal police the very next day. The police later arrested his wife, Rajeshwari and his son, Navneet (24), on charges of murdering Shetty and destroying the evidence.
Since 2016 July the house was locked. Bhaskar Shetty’s wife Rajeshwari Shetty had given the general power of attorney of the house to Renuka Vishwanath Rai a resident of Whitefield Bengaluru.
On March 7 Renuka Vishwanath Rai lodged a complaint in the Manipal Police station. In the complaint, she has stated that the robbery may have taken place between 1 November 2017 to 6 March 2018. The robbers had broke open the back door of the house and decamped with the gold ornaments, Silver and other items worth Rs 3.25 lakh from the house.
Fingerprint experts and the dog squad personnel have inspected the burgled house.
A case has been registered in the Manipal Police Station and investigation is on.
