Burning Effigy of Modi, Shah by Congress Will not be tolerated- Kota Srinivas Poojary
Udupi: “In the name of protest, burning the effigy of prime minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah by the Congress is condemnable. If the same continues, BJP will also give the right answer”, warned Kota Srinivas Poojary, Minister for Fisheries, Port, Inland Transport and Muzrai.
He was speaking to media persons in Udupi on September 5. “The arrest of D K Shivakumar is a matter of law and the Congress has all rights to protest according to the constitution. The BJP will not oppose the protest by Congress. But in the name of protest, burning the effigy of prime minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah is not right. It is like insulting the country,” he said.
Kota Srinivas further said, “DK Shivakumar did not go to jail fighting for the freedom of the country. If DK Shivakumar has suffered any injustice from the enforcement directorate, let him question it in the Supreme Court. The BJP also knows to give an answer if the same continues. The attitude of Congress is not good for civil society”.
Kota Srinivas also said, “Earlier too, the Income-tax department had arrested Jagan Mohan Reddy and Janardhan Reddy and no one acted like the Congress. BJP will not tolerate if the congress party members damaging buses by pelting stones. BJP is not responsible for the arrest of D K Shivakumar. If the Congress party workers continue the same attitude, the BJP is also ready to respond in a similar manner”, he said.
