Burqa-Clad Lady Steals Gold from a 2-year-old Child at a Function in City- Caught on CCTV
Mangaluru: A footage captured on CCTV has gone viral on social media where a burqa-clad woman is seen escorting a child to a room and stealing gold worn by the child. The incident had taken place during a function (probably a wedding) held at Milagres Golden Jubilee Hall, Hampankatta-Mangaluru on 24 July 2019.
As per police sources after a complaint was filed at Pandeshwar police station it is learnt that the lady has stolen two and half sovereigns of jewellery worn by the child. As seen on the video footage, the woman is seen approaching the child, and then seen her dragging the child to a side room in the hall, and after removing the ornaments worn by the child, she follows the child back into the hall, and then quickly escapes from the hall. As seen on footage, it looks like one more burqa-clad woman is also involved, where she is seen entering the side room following the lady that walks into the room with the child.
A complaint was lodged in Pandeshwar police station in City, and the value of the gold stolen is around Rs 49,000 as per police. The police have collected the footage and investigating the incident.
