Bus Seized, Case against Driver for Damaging Traffic Cones
On a Complaint to Kudla Traffic WhatsApp Group, a Bus was Seized, and a case was booked against the driver for damaging Traffic Tubular Cones
Mangaluru: On basis of a photo posted on the WhatsApp initiative of the City police “Kudla Traffic” of a bus for damaging a newly erected traffic tubular cones by a citizen of Mangaluru, the police authorities swing into quick action and booked a case against a bus driver for violating the traffic rules here on November 7. A couple of weeks ago, during the “Traffic Safety Week”, the City Police had erected brand new traffic tubular cones in a bid to reduce traffic congestion and also to check the parking of vehicles haphazardly. While doing so the police had also warned that anyone damaging these cones intentionally will be charged and penalised severely.
But, during the weekend at Bunts Hostel a bus driver without any regard for the traffic cones or its purpose, in a negligent and reckless manner drove the bus over the cones and damaged them. A citizen who was passing by and noticing the arrogant behaviour of the driver, quickly clicked photographs and posted them on Kudla Traffic police WhatsApp initiative on Friday.
Going through the complaint posted on WhatsApp, the police on Monday, November 7 filed a complaint against the bus driver and seized the bus. According to DCP (Crime and Traffic) Sanjeev Patil, the case was booked for destruction of public property, rash and negligent driving. He also said that it is a criminal case, the trial will take place in the court after the charge sheet is filed by the police.
