Mumbai, April 13 (IANS) Debutante filmmaker Kaustav Narayan Niyogi, who is debuting with “Cabaret” which features Richa Chadda in the lead role, says this film is a tribute to the courage of Indian women.

“‘Cabaret’ is a story of a girl who begins her journey from a small village in Jharkhand. Something very traumatic happens to her in the village and then she comes to Mumbai in search of work and she is on the run.”

“‘Cabaret’ is a tribute to the courage of Indian women. I have lot of respect to women who are struggling and who come from various parts of the country for their livelihood. This is a journey of a bold and courageous woman,” Niyogi told IANS.

Produced by Pooja Bhatt, the film features Richa Chadda, Gulshan Devaiah and S. Sreesanth.

Niyogi gives credit to Pooja for motivating him to try direction in films.

“The credit goes to Pooja Bhatt. I am from the ad world and she always used to tell me that there is a story teller in me and I should direct someday. She kept telling and finally I decided to take the plunge,” he said.

Kirsten Dunst, Garrett Hedlund have ‘broken up’

Los Angeles, April 13 (IANS) Actors Kirsten Dunst and Garrett Hedlund have reportedly called it quits.

According to sources, the “Fargo” star and the “Pan” actor have decided to end their romantic relationship after four years of dating, reports usmagazine.com.

The news may come as a bit of a surprise since the 33-year-old actress previously revealed in an interview last summer that her relationship with her long time boyfriend was going really well.

“We’re the same age. We have similar backgrounds. He feels like family to me,” Dunst had shared.

Dunst even stated that she’s ready to start a family with the “Unbroken” actor.

“I want to continue acting, but I also want to have kids,” she said. “I think I’ll be ready to have them in two years or something.”

The couple met while they co-starred in Jack Kerouac’s “On the Road” in 2011. They first made headlines together in January 2012, and they were rumoured getting engaged at the time.

Kesha to return to stage next month

Los Angeles, April 13 (IAN) Singer Kesha, who was in the news for her legal battle against music producer Dr. Luke, will return to the stage next month for a two-day tribute festival to honour iconic musician Bob Dylan.

Dylan is throwing a bash to celebrate his 75th birthday and he has asked several musicians, including Kesha, to join the line-up of performers for the event named Dylan Fest, reports aceshowbiz.com.

The 29-year-old is no stranger to Dylan’s music. In 2011, she did a cover of “Don’t think twice, it’s all right”, which was written by the veteran musician originally for his 1963 album, “The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan”.

Dylan Fest is scheduled to take place on May 23 and May 24, the latter being the day Dylan turns 75, at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.

Kacey Musgraves, City and Colour, Kurt Vile, Jason Isbell and Ann Wilson are other names enlisted for the festival, which will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of 1966’s “Blonde on Blonde”, Dylan’s first album recorded entirely in Nashville.

Tickets for the event go on sale this Saturday. The two-day show will benefit Thistle Farms, a Nashville charity that supports women who have survived addiction, trafficking and prostitution.

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man movie to be titled ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’

Las Vegas, April 13 (IANS) The upcoming Spider-Man standalone film, starring Tom Holland in the role of the super hero, will be titled “Spider-Man: Homecoming”.

Sony Pictures announced the film’s title at CinemaCon here.

“I’m Tom Holland and I’m your new Spider-Man,” said Holland, who promised that the new film would find the superhero and his alter ego Peter Parker searching for his identity, reports variety.com.

“I hope it takes about three movies,” added Sony Pictures chief Tom Rothman.

“Spider-Man: Homecoming” will focus on Parker’s struggles to balance his high school life with his vigilantism. Rothman described it as the conflict between “saving the world and getting your algebra homework done at the same time.”

Sony also unveiled the film’s new logo. It features a jaunty font, with the second “o” in homecoming replaced with an image of Spider-Man’s mask.

Before starring in “Spider-Man: Homecoming”, Holland will first be seen as Spider-Man in “Captain America: Civil War”.
