CAL St Sebastian Church Bendur Celebrates 73rd Indian Independence Day

Mangaluru: Catholic Action League, St. Sebastian Church Bendur unit celebrated 73rd Indian Independence Day along with the parishioners at St. Sebastian Church Grounds after the 6:45 am mass.

Fr Vincent Monteiro – Parish Priest presided along with Fr Walter D’mello and hoisted the National Flag. 10 Soldiers from the parish, Maxim Benedict Monteiro, Robert Pinto, G P Mascarenhas, Henry Pinto, John Gregory Dalmeida, Percival J C, Ozzy Pais, Daniel Dominic D’souza, Clifford D’souza, and Norbert D’souza were the chief guests of the programme. Fr Rohan Dias, Fr Nelson Peris – Assistant Parish Priest Msgr. Leslie Shenoy, Mavis Rodrigues – Secretary, Bendur parish pastoral council, Sujith Noronha – Animator, Catholic Action League Bendur unit, Leon Loyd Saldanha – Diocesan Youth President, ICYM Central Council Mangalore Diocese, Stephen Veigas – President, Catholic Action League Bendur unit were the dignitaries present for the programme.

Sujith Noronha welcomed the guests and the gathering. Fr Walter Dmello addressed the gathering and shared the importance of Independence Day and our duties as citizens of India.

CAL members sang a patriotic song which brought a sense of fulfillment and responsibility towards our country. Stephen Veigas – President, Catholic Action League Bendur unit delivered the vote of thanks. Riva D’souza compered the programme and CAL members distributed sweets to the gathering.
