Carey would’ve had $50 mn in pre-nuptial agreement
Los Angeles, Nov 3 (IANS) Singer Mariah Carey would’ve received $50 million from James Packer had they signed a pre-nuptial agreement and married.
The former engaged couple, who split last month, had outlined a draft pre-nuptial in February, ahead of a planned March 1 wedding in Bora Bora. The superstar also had her dress and flowers arranged for the D-Day.
The document is said to have stated the 46-year-old singer would be entitled to $50 million, reports tmz.com.
The flights for guests to their wedding were also booked, but Packer’s lawyers reportedly told him they couldn’t get the agreement signed by March 1.
“I don’t know who’s working for who because there are a lot of names I haven’t heard before on this email chain. The people who work for me — message — do as I say or f*** off. I want to get married on March 1. James,” an email read from Packer.
Packer’s lawyers sent Carey’s team a 100-page document detailing the specifics of the draft pre-nuptial, which was never signed.
One of the reported clauses was that Carey would have to return any jewellery given to her by the Australian billionaire if they split, unless he had gifted it to her with a signed note stating it was a present.
