Cases Booked in Two Police Stations for Violating Law and order during Mangaluru Chalo
Mangaluru: More than 850 protesters including BJP leaders B S Yeddyurappa, Shobha Karandlaje, Jagadish Shettar, R Ashok, Krishna J Palemar and C T Ravi were detained during the Mangaluru Chalo rally at Jyothi on September 7.
Cases have been booked in the Pandeshwar and Bunder police stations for violating the law and order. The permission to hold the Mangaluru Chalo rally organized by the BJP Yuva Morcha was denied, but BJP leaders being adamant violated the law and held a public meeting at Jyothi and later marched in a procession towards the DC office.
While they were marching towards DC office the protesters are said to have punctured the tyres of buses on which they were being taken by the police, protesters also broke window panes of some of the buses.
