Cashless Transactions A Difficult Task in India – Deve Gowda
Udupi: “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been pressurising people to rely on cashless transactions, the implementation of cashless transactions is a difficult task”, said Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda. He was speaking at the 20th Convention of South Karnataka Sunni Center and Mass wedding ceremony at Mooluru, Uchila here on December 4.
Small scale industries have been destroyed, the poor implementation of the scheme has affected the economy. The government should have taken measures before demonetization of the Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes.
Deve Gowda further said, “PM Modi’s statement saying I am a fakir (hermit) jhola ley kar chaley jayenge (I will exit with my little belongings)”, does not suit the Prime Minister. The RBI governor talking about the seizure of Rs 4 – 5 crore in Karnataka, whereas in Gujarat before the demonetization, more than Rs 13 crore had been credited by the Gujaratis, why is the governor silent on that issue? If PM is saying that the former PM’s were behind the black money, is he targeting Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Vajpayee? Devegowda questioned.
He also said, “I will not react to the government decision of 70% reservation to the backward class, the reservation has strengthened the backward class in getting higher positions and equality in the government sectors”.
JD(S) leader B M Farooq, district president of JD(S) Mohammed Kunhi, Udupi district president Dakshath Shetty, Yogish Shetty, Sudhakar Shetty Hejamadi, Iqbal Ahamed, Vasudev Rao, Ismail Palimar, Shalini Shetty Kenchanur, Uday Shetty Kaup, Jayaram Acharya, Uday Shetty and others were also present.
