CATCA Holds Traditional Sports ‘Tuluvere Tulipu-2018’

Mangaluru: The Coastalwood Artistes and Technical Cultural Association jointly organized traditional sports meet “Tuluvere Tulipu 2018”, at the Jaya-Vijaya Judukere Kambala Gadde Jappinamogeru here on July 22.

The programme began with an invocation. CATCA member Laxmeesh Suvarna welcomed the gathering. The programme was inaugurated by the corporator of Jappinanmogeru Ward Surendra by lighting the traditional lamp along with other dignitaries. Later the wooden pot was filled with paddy and the areca inflorescence was unfurled by the guests.

Addressing the gathering Former president of Press Club Jagannath Bala said, “CATCA holds the CPL every year to unite all the Coastalwood artistes. But this year a unique programme has been organized which will refresh our memory of the olden days. We have seen Coastalwood artistes in movies but today we are seeing them playing in the paddy field. I wish all the participants the very best. Let CATCA organize such events to keep alive the tradition and culture of Tulunadu.”

One of the guests Nagesh speaking on the occasion said, “I congratulate CATCA for organizing such a beautiful sports meet. My support is always there for the organizers, this event refreshed my memories of my childhood days when I used to play in the paddy fields. Our youth now do not get the opportunity to enjoy in the field. This sports meet Tuluvere Tulipu will surely be a memorable one for all the Coastalwood artistes. I wish all the participants success and to have a good time in the field.

The ‘Tuluvere Tulipu’ sports meet was declared open by running a pair of Buffaloes (Kambala). President of CATCS Pammi Kodialbail, his mother Shambhavi Kodialbail, Mahabala Shetty Jappinamogeru, Bhaskar Chandrahas Shetty, Yashodhar Shetty, Shyamprasad, Anil Shetty, Sunil Nelligudde, Ashwini G Kotian, Mohandas Rai and Rajesh were also present.
