Catholic Sabha distributes Prathibha Puraskar and Manipal Aroghya Suraksha Card
Udupi: The Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh and John D’Silva Foundation Mumbai organized Prathibha Puraskar, Scholarship and Manipal Aroghya Suraksha Card distribution programme at the St Francis Xavier’s Church Hall, Udyavar here on Sunday, September 2.
The Programme began with an invocation; Mary D’Souza president of Catholic Sabha Udupi Varado welcomed the gathering. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo Bishop of Udupi Diocese formally inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.
In his message, Bishop Gerald Lobo said, “every challenge gives you an opportunity to explore and manage yourself. And exploring makes you stronger, mentally and emotionally. The Udupi Diocese has deiced to train children of the Catholic Community for appearing in the competitive examinations. Efforts will be made to attract more children to government service in the coming days,” he said.
Karnataka Public Service Commission member Dr Ronald Anil Fernandes distributed the Manipal Arogya Suraksha Card symbolically and said, “Students should not lose hope and focus when faced with disappointment during in the exams. Students should strongly believe in their strength and study in a systematic manner and face the exams,” he said.
Manipal Arogya Card Coordinator, Veronica Cornelio highlighted various achievements of the Catholic Sabha Udupi Diocese i.e. every effort has been made to get the Manipal Health Card to every member of the diocese, 90% of the people have been provided with these medical cards and most of them are utilizing the cards and are benefitting. 13143 health cards were distributed last year and this year 13641 cards have been distributed.
The Dignitaries honoured students who had scored distinction marks in SSLC, CBSE and PUC (Arts, Commerce and Science) along with their parents by offering them a medal, certificate, cash prize and flowers on the occasion. Scholarship was also distributed to the meritorious students.
