Catholic Sabha Kolalgiri Unit to Cultivate Rice and Donate to Poor
Udupi: The members of Catholic Sabha (CS), Sacred Heart Church, Kolalgiri will be donating the produce of cultivated paddy to the poor families.
Under the leadership of Catholic Sabha, paddy saplings were planted in a 55 cents land with 60 – 100 volunteers of its unit. In a programme organised on July 8, the Catholic Sabha organised sports for its members in the paddy field with enthusiasm and spirit and later planted the paddy saplings.
The Members of the Catholic Sabha will supervise the paddy field. Members of the CS will engage in cultivating the crop and the produce will be distributed to the poor families. The grass will be supplied to the goshalas.
On Sunday the members’ of the Catholic Sabha and other faithful of the church joined hands in planting the rice saplings in the field. Parish Priest Fr Anil Prakash D’Silva and Assistant parish priest Jerald Sandeep D’Mello motivated the parishioners by planting the paddy saplings along with them.
Prior to planting the paddy saplings the youth and the faithful of the church played Volley Ball match in the Slushy Fields. Udupi Taluk Panchayat member Nalini Pradeep Rao inaugurated the Volley Ball match and wished all successes.
The Kolalgiri unit of CS has recently completed 25 years. It currently has 225 plus registered members. Facilities like toilets, bus stands, and other works have been initiated by the unit.
