Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh launches Laity Convention ‘Samudayothsav-2020’ Logo

Udupi: Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh is set to organise a mega laity convention Samudayothsav-2020 on January 19 at the Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte Ground. As a preparation of the convention the logo was released on Sunday, November 10, at the Catholic Sabha office auditorium.

Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves spiritual director of the Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh along with Veronica Cornelio former chairperson of Karnataka Soaps and Detergent Ltd unveiled the Samudayothsav-2020 logo.

Addressing the gathering Fr Ferdinand said that Catholic Sabha is known for its selfless service for many years. We are happy to know that Catholic Sabha for the first time in the history of Udupi diocese is organising a huge Laity convention. Let the convention help the communities to join under one Roof.

Nearly 3,000 Catholic women laity are expected to take part in the convention. Former Governor Margert Alva, Archbishop Dr Peter Machado, Udupi Diocese Bishop DR Gerald Isaac Lobo, senior Congress leader of Maharastra Janet D’Souza and others are expected to take part in the inaugural and valedictory function.

Six achievers of the society who worked from the grass-root level in various fields will be conferred on the occasion. Other achievers will also be felicitated with lifetime awards.

Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh president Alwyn Quadros, secretary Santhosh Cornelio, vice president Flyvan D’Souza, designated president Robert Menezes, Treasurer Gerald Rodrigues, Convener of the conference Elroy Kiran Crasta, outgoing president Valerian Fernandes, former president’s Alphonse D’Coasta, Walter Cyril Pinto were also present.

Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh president Alwyn Quadros welcomed the gathering Secretary of the conference committee Marry D’Souza delivered Vote of thanks.
