Catholicos Paulose II declares Brahmavar St. Mary’s Cathedral as Pilgrim Center
Udupi: The 129 year old renovated St Mary’s Orthodox Syrian Cathedral, Brahmavar was Consecrated and Dedicated to the devotees on Friday, January 12.
The second part of Consecration ceremony began at 6:30 am. The Catholicose Paulose II along with Yakob Mar Elias (Bishop, Brahmavar Diocese), Geevarghese Mar Coorilos (Bishop, Mumbai Diocese), Joseph Mar Dionysius (Bishop, Kolkata Diocese), Geevarghese Mar Yulios (Bishop, Ahmedabad Diocese) and Abraham Mar Seraphim (Bishop, Bangalore Diocese) conducted the second part of the consecration.
The consecration involved the anointing of Holy Myron oil to the alter and blessing the doors of the Church with the sign of the Cross. Thereafter Consecration of the Triune Alter Holy mass was celebrated. Catholicos Paulose II offered the Holy mass on the Central Altar, while Mar Coorilos and Mar Dionysius offered the mass on the side altars.

Fr C.A. Isaac, Fr Lawrence D’souza, Fr David Crasta, Fr Abraham Kuriakose, Fr Noel Lewis and Fr Joseph Chacko, Trustee Anil B Rodrigues, Cathedral Renovation committee president Alan Rohan Vaz and others were present.
