Cattle Trafficking, Two Persons Taken into Custody by Bajpe Police

Mangaluru: The cattle trafficking and illegal cow slaughtering was rampant in Dakshina Kannada and was a burning issue. For a couple of months now hardly did hear about cattle trafficking.

On March 22, two persons have been taken into custody from Gurupura Kaikamba for investigation by the Bajpe police in connection with a case of cattle trafficking.

According to sources it is learnt that the public caught hold of two persons while they were transporting cattle illegally at Gurupur Kaikamba. The public thrashed both of them and later handed them over to the police.

Bajpe police are investigating the case.

I notice that the names are not published. It leads me to believe that these guys are either Jains or Shivalli Brahmans.
