CBI court grants bail to one more in NPCC bribery case
 
New Delhi: A Delhi court on Saturday granted bail to one more accused in an alleged bribery case relating to the National Projects Construction Corporation (NPCC).

Special CBI Judge Sanjay Garg granted bail to Aneesh Baid and directed him to furnish a bail bond of Rs 1 lakh and a surety of the same amount.

Earlier, the court had granted regular bail to two other accused, Binod Singhi and Ramesh Kumar in the case.

Baid, the owner of Shree Gautam Pvt Ltd. was granted bail on the condition that he would not leave the country without the prior permission of the court, shall join the investigation as and when required and shall not try to influence the prosecution witnesses in any manner. He was represented by Advocate Vijay Aggarwal.

The CBI had arrested 7 persons including public servants in an alleged bribery case pertaining to contracts awarded by NPCC.

The case pertains to bribes amounting to Rs 25 lakh for processing and passing of bills for contracts awarded by NPCC.

Searches were conducted at the premises of the accused public servants, middleman and other individuals at 18 locations in Delhi, Silchar, Jalpaiguri, Guwahati and Gwalior.

The agency claimed to have recovered several incriminating documents during the searches.
