CCB Police Arrest 3 Ganja Peddlers, 10 Kg Ganja Seized
Mangaluru: The CCB police have arrested three persons in the city and seized 10 Kilogrammes of Ganja from their possession on July 3.
The arrested have been identified as Rameez Raz (24) from Naringana Bantwal, Mohammed Haneef (31) from Natikkal Mangaluru and Iqbal Harris (24) from Belma Mangaluru.
According to the police on July 3, on getting information that three persons had brought huge amount of Ganja to Mangaluru from Chittur Andra Pradesh and were selling it at a lodge in Falnir, the CCB police raided the lodge, arrested all the three persons and seized 10 kilogrammes of Ganja, three mobile phones, a digital weighing machine, plastic covers, cash Rs 9500 and a two-wheeler all worth Rs 3 lakh from their possession.
The accused Rameez was involved in rioting and a Ganja related case in 2016 at the Konaje police station. Mohammed Hanif was invloved in a Ganja related case in 2016 at the Mangaluru Rural police station and Iqbal was involved in the medical student kidnap and rape case at Konaje police station, assault case at Mulky station, assault on police at Suratkal police station and assault on an inmate at the Mangaluru sub jail. A Total of five cases were registered against Iqbal in various police stations.
All the accused have been handed over to Mangaluru North Police Station for further investigation.
Under the able guidance of Police Commissioner T R Suresh, DCP Law and order Shantharaju, DCP Crime and Traffic Hanumantharaya and ACP Valentine D’Souza the operation was carried out by CCB Inspector Sunil Y Naik, PSI Shyam Sundar and team.
