CCB Police arrest four in Basheer Assault case
Mangaluru: The CCB police have arrested four persons in connection with the assault on Basheer at Kottara Chowki on January 3.
The arrested have been identified as Srijith P K (25) from Uppala, Kishan Poojary (21) from Padil, Dhanush Poojary (22) from Padil and Sandesh Kotian (22) from Manjeshwar.
All the four accused had come to the Garodi Jathre where they came to know about the murder of Deepak Rao at Katipalla. To take revenge they assaulted Basheer when he was closing his fast food outlet in Kottara Chowki.
The CCB police led by ACP CCRP Valentine D’Souza succeeded in arresting all the accused.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that as soon as they came to know about Deepak’s murder they thought of taking revenge. When they were travelling to Suratkal they saw Basheer closing the shop and assaulted home. Later they fled from the spot.
Accused Srijith is involved in various crimes and 7 cases have been registered against him in Kasaragod and Ullal police stations. Against the. accused Kishan Poojary 3 cases have been registered, Dhanush is involved in assault and rioting cases and against Sandesh a case has been registered in the Badiyadk police station.
Under the direction of Police commissioner T R Suresh T R Suresh, DCP Law and order Hanumantharaya Hanumantharaya and DCP Crime and Traffic Uma Prashanth the operation was carried out by the CCB police Inspector Shantharam and team.
