CCB Police arrest four persons in Dacoity case
Mangaluru: The CCB police along with the Kadri police team arrested four persons in connection with a dacoity case from Natekal, Derlakatte here on March 10.
The arrested have been identified as Tousif alias Munna Shailu (25) from Perdur, Mohammed Abdul Fayan (19) from Manjanadi, Abdul Safwan (22) from Dharmanagar, Ullal and Mohammed Arif (31) from Bajal, Padpu.
According to the police, on March 4, at around 9:00 pm, Lancy Cyril Lobo from Kulshekar after filling his two-wheeler with petrol at the Petrol pump and while returning home when he stopped his two-wheeler on the side of the road, 5 persons came in an Alto car, assaulted Lancy and looted him of his mobile and cash and fled from the spot. In this connection, a case was filed in the Kadri Police station.
On March 10, getting information about the whereabouts of the accused, the CCB police got into action and arrested all the five accused from Derlakatte and handed them over to the Kadri police for further investigations.
All the accused are involved in various crimes, a case of attempt to murder has been registered against Tousif in 2013 and he was released recently on bail. Mohammed Abdul Fayan was earlier involved in an attempt to murder and cases have been registered against him in the North and Ullal Police stations, a case has also been registered against him in the Konaje police station for setting a shop on fire. Abdul Safwan has been involved in Ganja peddling and a case is registered against him in the Punjalkatte police station and Mohammed Arif was earlier involved in two-wheeler theft and cases have been registered against him in the Barke, South, and East police stations.
The operation was carried out by teams led by CCB inspector Sunil Y Naik and Kadri Inspector Maruti Nayak.
