CCB police arrest Three persons in Kalia Rafiq Murder case

CCB police arrest Three persons in Kalia Rafiq Murder case

Mangaluru: “The CCB police arrested three persons on February 28 in connection with the murder case of Rowdy Sheeter Kalia Rafiq at Kotekar on February 14”, said the police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar in a press meet held at his office here on February 28.

Addressing the media persons Chandra Sekhar said that on getting reliable information that the killers of rowdy Sheeter Kalia Rafiq are moving in an Ertiga car bearing registration number KL 14 Q 376, the CCB police got into action and arrested three of the accused at Naringana Kallarakodi.

The arrested have been identified as Noor Ali (36) from Kondekur, owner of a tipper; Rasheed T S (30), Rajapuram and Hussainabba alias Hussain alias Suhail alias Ustad (35) from Bantwal.

The police have recovered machetes, Pistol and the car from their possession. While investigation the accused revealed that they were trying to kill him from past three months. The accused attempted 5 times but they did not succeed. On February 14,

Kalia was involved in rowdies in Kerala. Kalia was arrested in 2013 in Muthalif murder case. The accused Noor Ali (Muthalif’s brother) was planning to kill Kalia and he contacted another rowdy sheeter Zia. On February 14, when Kalia was travelling to Mangaluru, Noor Ali followed Kalia’s car and when they reached near Kotekar Petrol pump, he hit the tipper to Kalia’s car. When the occupants in the car were running for life, Kalia was hacked to death.

The operation was carried out by CCB inspector Sunil Nayak, ACP Shruti and Ullal PI Gopi. All the three have been arrested under section 143, 147, 148, 279, 341, 504, 302, 307, 325, 149 IPC and section 3, 25, 27 of the arms act. Another five persons are absconding in this case and search is on for them. Kalia Rafiq was involved in various crimes and 2 cases have been registered against him in the Vittal police station and one in Ullal police station.

DCP Law and order Shantharaju and DCP Crime and Traffic Dr Sanjeev Patil were also present.
