CDA has taken up several projects in Coastal Karnataka as per the requirement of MLAs – Mattar Rathnakar Hegde
Mangaluru: Concrete work undertaken under the Coastal Development Authority at Bajpe Bus stand, near Mangaluru, Moodbidri Assembly constituency was inaugurated by Mattar Rathnakar Hegde, president of Coastal Development Authority.
The total project cost for this work is Rs 40 lac. After the inauguration, the president of Coastal Development Authority, Mattar Hegde mentioned in his speech that the coastal development authority would take up developmental work at the three districts of coastal Karnataka (namely Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and North Kanara) as per the requirement of the elected members. With regard to this, the authority has submitted project proposals to the government and expects approval soon from the finance department.
He also mentioned that more than 100 approved projects are under progress in the three districts, and we are aggressively monitoring the construction of these projects which are expected to be completed as per the target. The authority has a good rapport with the elected representatives of all the three districts. It regularly holds discussions with them on taking up long term projects for the benefit of the people as well as to improve the economic position of the districts.
During the programme, the local Mulki-Moodbidri MLA, Umanath Kotian mentioned that within the period of the next three years, a new bus stand with all the amenities would be established in the area. The Coastal Development Authority has spent about Rs 65 lac for concrete and other works. He congratulated Rathnakar Hegde, president of the authority for their support and timely completion.
Vasanthi Kishore, ZP member, Dinesh Shetty, former vice-president, Usha Suvarna, Taul panchayat member, Jokim D’Costa, former panchayat member, Roji Mathias, president, Bajpe gram panchayat, and all the panchayat members and officials were present.
Pradeep D’Souza, secretary of Coastal Development Authority welcomed the gathering while Shahish Chowta, PDO Bajpe panchayat delivered the vote of thanks.
