CEN Police Arrest Ganja Peddler in Manipal
Udupi: The CEN police in Manipal arrested a person who was allegedly selling ganja to the students in the city.
The arrested person has been identified as Anirudh Chourasiya (23), a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
According to the police, Anirudh has been selling ganja to students at various places in the city. On receiving a tip-off, the CEN PSI Seetharam P arrived at Herga and arrested Anirudh. He has been booked under the Narcotic and Psychotropic Substances Act.
The police seized 2.142 grams of ganja worth Rs 42500 from the accused. The accused were produced before the court and sent to judicial custody till June 6. The accused is studying in a reputed institution in Manipal.
Under the direction of SP Laxman Nimbargi and DySP Kumarchandra, the team led by Seetharam PSI CEN department along with ASI Keshav Gowda, HCs Sathish, Krishna Prasad, Prasanna Salian and Nagesh took part in the operation.
