Central Excise &Tax Commissionerate conducts ‘Feedback Diwas on New GST Returns’
Mangaluru: The Mangaluru Central Excise & Central Tax Commissionerate had conducted a feedback diwas on new GST Returns on 7 December 2019, in the offices of Mangaluru, Udupi and Karwar including the range offices in the taluks of Puttur, Sulia, Haliyal, Kumta and Honnavara. This feedback divas was organised to familiarise the taxpayers about new Returns with the assistance of the officers, giving them a live demo which included hands-on training on the filing and uploading of the new Returns.
The new Returns RET 1, RET 2(SAHAJ) and RET 3(SUGAM), replacing the erstwhile GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B, will come into effect from 1st April 2020. The new GST Returns will enable the taxpayers to amend mistakes in original returns along with invoice matching which will go a long way in checking the menace of fraud and deterring habitual non-filers.
The feedback divas was very well received by the trade and around 150 taxpayers participated in the programme, providing valuable feedback. This feedback will be sent to the Ministry for further examination and necessary action to be taken.
