CFI Stages protest, Demands Rs 50 Lakh Compensation to Zaibunnisa’s family
Mangaluru: The Campus Front of India staged a protest in front of the DC office on January 30, demanding an investigation in the suspicious death of Zaibunnisa (14), in the Government Minority Residential School at K R Pet Mandya.
Addressing the protesters the State president of Campus Front Mohammed Toufsil said, “The recent death of Zaibunnisa has created suspicion. Zaibunnisa was a brilliant student, she used to question the system in the hostel. Prior to her death, Zaibunnisa had informed her parents about the mental and physical torture she was facing at the hands of her teachers. She had also complained against the teacher Ravi who had thrashed and insulted her in front of other students. But the school authorities nor the administration has not taken any action against those responsible for the death of Zaibunnisa. The parents suspect that teacher Ravi is involved in the death of Zaibunnisa which should be thoroughly investigated.”
The protesters demanded a thorough inquiry in the Zaibunnisa death case. A special team should be formed to investigate the death of many students. In connection with Zaibunnisa’s death case Teacher Ravi should be severely punished and the Government should compensate Zaibunnisa’s family with Rs 50 lakh.”
CFI leaders Muhammed Athaulla, Imran P J, Farhaz and students from various schools were also present.
