Chain Snatching of Elderly Woman, Two held

Mangaluru: The Kadri police arrested two persons in connection with the chain snatching case, near KPT here on October 6.

The arrested have been identified as Mohammed Nizar (25), and Zurais (22) both residents of Sullia.

On September 28, at around 7:00 am when Nagaratna an elderly woman was on her morning walk, near Kadri Kambla two persons snatched the chain she was wearing and fled on the two-wheeler. In this connection, a case was registered in the Kadri police station.

On October 6, the duo were on their two-wheeler which was used for chain snatching. The Kadri police led by Police Inspector Maruti Nayak and team got suspicious and took both of them into custody. During questioning, they revealed that the chain they had snatched was sold to Kamadhenu Gold Palace in Bellare.

The police seized the two-wheeler from their possession. Later going to Bellare the police recovered the gold chain from Kamadhenu Gold Palace.

Under the able guidance of Police commissioner Chandra Sekhar, DCP Law and Order Shantharaju, DCP Crime and Traffic Dr Sanjeev Patil and ACP Uday Nayak, the operation was carried out by Kadri Police inspector Maruti G Nayak, PSI Raghav Nayar, Venkatesh, Sukumar Shetty, Prashanth Shetty, Ajith Mathew, Madan C M and Ravi H.

Mohammed Nizar and Zurias. Some reporting error I guess. Read it as Rama and Krishna instead.
