Chaitra suicide case, Father files Complaint, Alleges Sexual Assault
Udupi: There are allegations from Chaitra’s father Chandrashekhar that his daughter had been sexually abused by three youth including her close friend.
Chaitra (18), was working in NetG Computer centre located in Mandovi Towers, near Shamili hall. She was in love with her colleague Adarsh. Chaitra’s parents had given their consent to marry Adarsh and so he used to visit Chaitra’s house regularly.
On September 28, at around 12:45pm, Pavan and Sagar went out with Chaitra from the computer centre and dropped her back to the office at around 4:00 pm. It is alleged that Adarsh along with Pavan and Sagar had sexually abused Chaitra which may have led her to take the extreme step.
Chaitra had jumped into the Swarna River from the KG Road Bridge on September 28 evening. She had left her bag and sandals on the bridge. Passersby saw the bag and sandals on the bridge and informed the Brahmavar Police.
In this connection, Chandrashekar has filed a complaint in the Udupi Town police station and the investigation is on.
