‘Be The Change’- Sports Meet 2017 at St Aloysius PUC
Mangaluru: On the occasion of the Sports Day 2017 at St Aloysius Pre University College, the Chief Guest, Mayor Kavitha Sanil, addressed around 4000 students of the 56 Batches assembled in the Gonzaga Grounds and said that each of them are talented in different fields and it is the responsibility of oneself, the parents as well as the teachers to recognize their talents. She also motivated the students to practice any form of sports for at least half an hour every day in order to lead a healthy and happy life and declared the Sports Meet 2017 Open.
In his address, the President of the programme, Rev.Fr Melwin Pinto, Director of Fatima Retreat House, Mangaluru appreciated the students for participating in the Annual Sports Meet in large numbers. He urged them to respect the rules of the game, the officials, and other competitors and said that this will help them learn something for life.
The National and State Level Sports achievers participated in the solemn torch run and 56 teams along with the PTE Committee marched to the beats of the Band by Karnataka State Reserve Police. Dr Ganesh Amin, Dean, St Aloysius PU College welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest. Naveen Kumar, Physical Director proposed the vote of thanks. Also gracing the Dais were the Principal, Rev. Fr Melwin Mendonca SJ, the Vice Principal, Mrs Charlotte D’Souza and the Physical Directors, Naveen Kumar and Ms Usha A.J
